Well who could of imagined that after back to back promotions from League 1 into the Championship then all the way to the Barclays Premier League that we would have the most amazing 3rd season in a row? I can’t imagine there was many.
I am a very optimistic person and I thought my prediction at the start of the season of finishing 16th was being very optimistic indeed. I would of been happy to go into the final game with a chance of staying up.
The fact we traveled the the Emirates on Saturday in 14th place, Safety secured and a huge points gap between us and the bottom 3 was something incredible.
and what a game we played a part in down in North London, A 3-3 draw was incredible, everyone thought we were on for a stuffing after letting in a goal after just 70 seconds. Amazingly, we led 2-1 after 27 minutes. What was all the more extraordinary was being 302 down and coming back again to get the ate equaliser. It was a truly proud performance and a brilliant point to add to this incredible Premier League adventure.
So where did we achieve safety this season? Just look at our amazing run between 26th November and 11th February…
13 games, 6 wins, 4 draws and 3 defeats..
It was an incredible run which produced 22 points, the bulk of what has kept us up this season. In fact thats half of what we have now in just those 13 games. We got on with it during those cold, winter months and that helped amazingly well to acheiving our goal of safety.
Throw in a Draw at Liverpool, A draw at Arsenal, A draw at Home to Chelsea and that amazing win at White Hart Lane against Spurs and this has been a wonderful first year back in the Premier League.
We now can enjoy the final day, A party at home to Aston Villa in the knowledge that we have another 38 incredible Barclays Premier League games to look forward to from August 18th.
WE LOVE IT!
ON THE BALL CITY!!!!!!!!!!!
