I have a week off this week so thought I would write you On The Ball City.com memebers a bonus blog on top of my regular Friday offering.. enough about what I do however, What about the events at Elland Road on Saturday!! I thought it was an outstanding game of Football and a truly great advert for the second tier of the beautiful game.
First of all, Its important to say the support from both sets of fans was outstanding and both clubs faithful’s are easilly better than 8 of the 20 Premier League clubs this season, I won’t name and shame them but if you watch Premier League Football and see the vast array of empty seats and get little noise coming through your TV sets, then you’ll know what i’m talking about.
The first half from a Norwich point of view was amazing, I’d like to be informed of another club anywhere in the world who could be as vastly outplayed and dominated like we were by that Leeds United side and only be a goal down when we entered additional time, of course.. to all our amasement we only went and levelled it at 1-1 before the Half Time whistle was blown, quite how we did that was unreal and sums up why this club is so special.
Second Half was a different story for me, It was a much more open game, and there could of been many more than the 2 goals that were scored, credit to us for going infront and coming from behind to take a 2-1 lead, We were in absolute dreamland when the goal went in, The game ended up as 2-2 following David Somma’s goal straight after coming on as a sub. The national media who lets be honest don’t seem to be fans of us have probably written in the papers today something along the lines of “Leeds come from behind to get a big promotion point” or “Norwich let lead slip at Elland Road” which they can write what they like, that doesn’t matter to any Norwich Fan, Leeds dominated the National Media headlines last season and we still finished above them, hopefully the same will happen this season, In my view if we do finish above the Elland Road side we will be in the end of season Play Offs for sure. The point on Saturday for us was another surreal result to continue this remarkable season we are having.
We must stop talking about whats been and gone though and get on with whats ahead, and tomorrow night we entertain Doncaster Rovers at Carrow Road under the floodlights, now this morning I have been casting my eye over various other Norwich sites reading what people put and I’ve seen the talk of the next 3 games being vital, my question is why?, I’m not suggesting for one minute they are not vital, but they are no more vital than the 3 we have just had or the 3 after them, another point was I’ve seen most people predicting 9 points from the next 3, Now i think some people need to take it easy for a moment or two, Yes i apprdciate we are having a wonderful season, acheiving way beyond what we dreamt before it all began, but even considering our great form, We are playing in the most unpredictable league in the world and we havn’t won 3 games in a row in the league all season, so i think it will be a big ask to do that in these 3 upcoming games, simply to do with the fact anyone beats anyone in this League and you just don’t know. However, If when I leave Carrow Road on Saturday 5th March at the end of the Preston game and head home and we have just collected the final 3 of 9 points, I will write in my following blog on this very site an apology to all those I told to take it easy with the optimism. In case anyone of you wandered how many I think we will get, I’m going for 5 points from the next 3 games, The bare minimum required for me if we wan’t to sustain this promotion push.
However, all we can do is take it one game at a time, continue to enjoy our Football and what will be will be. Lets start by getting right behind the team tomorrow night in what should be an extra increased evening crowd due to the School’s being off for Half Term, and hopefully kick off this 3 game period with 6 points.
Have a good one tomorrow night and a great rest of your week.
Speak to you Friday!

Apologies forgot to read it through before I posted it up, I do of course mean 3 points tomorrow night and not 6 that I missed typed, although you could say It be a six pointer if we came up with a win and someone like Nottingham Forest or our fellow promotion rivals lost. OTBC!
