The beginning of a Huge 6 Weeks
Nov

2011
Its Friday again, so all focus is on another weekend of Football, and most importantly for us, another Norwich City weekend. Tomorrow sees the start of a potentially huge 6 weeks of our season, 8 games, 24 points available and by the time the final whistle is blown at Loftus Road on Monday 2nd January 2012, and the 12 day break from League action begins, we will know a whole lot more about just where we are this season.
Before I get into all that, Just time to look back on last Saturday, and I know we unfortunately lost the game, but I enjoyed every single second of Arsenal’s visit to Carrow Road, It was a wonderful day and a great occasion to be involved in. Sharing our ground with Arsenal’s fans, our players rubbing shoulders with Arsenal’s superstars was great to see and its what being in the Premier League was all about. Yes we lost, but it was only by one goal and we were up against the best striker in the world right now in the name of Robin Van Persie, we did ourselves proud, its another big team ticked off the list and only 1 negative on the goal difference, its really nothing to worry about. The important stage of the season starts tomorrow.
On we go to the “Huge 6 weeks” I mention in my blog title this week, 8 games over the 6 weekends, and potentially a defining period of the season. This is what we have got,
QPR Home,
Man City Away,
Newcastle Home,
Everton Away,
Wolves Away,
Spurs Home,
Fulham Home,
QPR Away.
All before the 12 day break from League action for the Fa Cup 3rd Round to take place an none of those pointless International Breaks to get in the away of any of the matches. Its a huge but very exciting period for all of us.
Yes you can do all your if’s, buts, maybe’s on all the possible points outcomes, but at the end of the day it will be about what our much loved boys in Yellow do on the pitch in each occasion.
I’ll say it like it is now with regards to those fixtures, You can disregard Man City away right here, right now, We will lose that game, 100% certain of that I am, never been more sure of a defeat in my time supporting Norwich City. Now I know many of you reading this won’t like what I just said there, but its not me being negative, its just realism, We just simply can’t compete with Manchester City, they are world class, on another level, they can score goals when they like and beat whoever they like. Yes I know someone will comment and say but we competed against Liverpool away and drew, but Manchester City are on another level sorry. Our sole aim for that game, should be to just keep the score as low as possible, leave their with just 1 or 2 negatives on the goal difference and move on, we have more important dates for the diary. I do hope of course, I am wrong, I love Norwich City as much as the next person, but I think realism is needed for that game, instead of saying we can win and all that..
Anyway… I’ll move on, continue with positives all the way from here, Spurs at Home, our second visit of the season from one of the big six clubs, Yes no question our second hardest fixture after Man City in this period, but its at Carrow Road, its in a busy period of games, which will be interesting. Of course Spurs are favourites, but if its a fluke Premier League day, there’s a chance we could get something out of it.
That Leaves 6 games, for me there’s 2 that if we get any points, even a draw, we should be delighted, they are Newcastle at Home and Everton away, Newcastle have been in terrific form, and Goodison is a terribly tough place to go, They are winnable matches, but if we get draw’s in either, I will be delighted.
That leaves 4 games, QPR at Carrow Road tomorrow, Our trip to Wolves, Fulham’s Carrow Road visit and our away day to play QPR again. For me, those 4 are very much winnable, and if we can get 2 wins and a draw at least from those I will be very happy and maybe a point or two more from other fixtures i mentioned and it will keep us in a respectable position above the drop zone in my opinion.
Its an important period, a potentially defining period, Important as ever we do our job as fans, get behind the team and back them all the way. QPR at Carrow Road tomorrow, another fantastic game for us to enjoy.
COME ON YOU YELLOWS!
ON THE BALL CITY!!!!!!!!!!
