Surman

I am very disappointed to hear that he will be out for at least 2 months. I thought we missed him terribly today as Lappin is not half as good as him.

Surman gives us quality in so many different ways, whether it is his set pieces, creativity, eye for a pass, excellent movement and superb link up play. We were missing his spark today.

Lappin, as much as I admire his attitude, is no replacement and it showed today. When he doesn’t know what to do, he will play an aimless floated ball down the line to the opposition. He also has no pace and lacks creativity which Surman has in abundance.

On the other hand, there is McNamee, a player who I rate and would love to see in the side. An exciting, natural winger with pace who is keen to run at defenders and had a hand in both goals today. The question is, will he have such an impact if he starts games?

I think that he would. When has he ever had a real decent run?

Give him a chance.

I’m not convinced he would be anywhere near as effective starting. He is the perfect impact player to use against tiring defences. I agree lappin is not in surmans league, but he wasn’t that bad. If I was lambert I’d be eyeing a loan to cover surmans injury, someone with that bit of extra creativity.

I think I would rather start Macca than Lappin. Lappin works hard but we need a balance and Korey offers us the work rate in midfield.

Lord you are joking surely.

So you want to replace Surman with a loan player opposed to our own in Mcnamee?

Are you Glenn Roeder?

I do not agree with super subs in the slightest. Your eithr good enough or ur not. U can play or u cant.

Similar to what neil adams said before “as a footballer you go out there and give it your all”. simple.

Just dont buy into this sub crap.

Lappin is favourite to start, just to preserve the diamond but if Wes is struggling, as he appeared to do on Saturday who better to unleash than a nippy winger when the full back has already done 70 minutes.

Steven Smith is back in training, needs match practice but would be more attack minded than Lappin and more defensively aware than Macca, how would he look on the left side of mid field?
