Not sure this is the type of player we should be looking for at this stage of the season. An experienced head, still with the passion for the game would be ideal but where to look?

I’m not convinced he would be anywhere near as effective starting. He is the perfect impact player to use against tiring defences. I agree lappin is not in surmans league, but he wasn’t that bad. If I was lambert I’d be eyeing a loan to cover surmans injury, someone with that bit of extra creativity.

I think a couple more additions would be excellent, as in comparison to other teams our squad is still pretty thin in certain departments. With the injury to Nelson likely to be long term I’d like to see another centre back in. Yes Barnett has joined till January, but currently I only see himself, Ward and Askou as the centre backs competing for a place as who knows when Whitbread will ever be fit again! There have been rumours that Lambert wants to bring boyata in from Man city in a season long loan deal which would be a shrewd move as the lad has bags of potential.

Pretty laughable post to be honest. Anyone that went to the game yday cud again see nelson was our strongest cb. Ward done ok but was turned far too easily for sholas goal and then nelson had to put in an amazing sliding tackle to cover for wards poor pass. There’s nothing wrong with having one defender that would rather clear the ball quickly than casually play it from the back, nice to have that balance now. Nelson may struggle in the championship, but to form opinions so early is ridiculous. Then I guess we could start with zak who has struggled every time he’s played for Norwich so far including getting the run around against Stevenage.

first choice partnership against Watford imo will be ward and nelson. Whitbread has done nothing yet to earn the shirt, and has been outshone by Nelson when the two have played together. I really rated Askou at the start of last season but it will take time after hislong injury layoff for him to return to a sustained level of fitness.
