I hate to say it but Ward just isn’t good enough. I lost count of the number of weak tackles he made, 2 of which resulted in goals. It seems to be rubbing off on Bennett as well as he put in a few weak tackle through out the game. We seriously need to look at our CBs in the summer. Obviously having Whitbread and Ayala out has been a massive blow, but that doesn’t excuse the amount of sloppy goals that have gone in in the last 3 matches. A lot of strengthening needs to be done before next season.

As for the whole game, it didn’t seem like the right tactics. 1 up top clearly isn’t working out. Whenever the furthest forward player got the ball in the first half they had absolutely no support, whether it was Moro or Pilks. It has been very disheartening lately with our sudden lack of threat up front! Vaughan coming back is a plus and he was unlucky with that volley that surely would have gone in if it weren’t for the block. It seems those core players that had done so well at the start of the season have just stopped performing. The likes of Moro, Fox, Johnson, Ward. They are all off form and it has resulted in some poor performances.

I just get the feeling that Norwich got to 70 minutes in that Man City match and then declared for the season. They haven’t really done anything since then and we have concede 9 goals and scored none in the 200 minutes of football since then. It simply needs to be sorted for these last 2 games.

The pluses I can take from the game are Vaughan looked good, Pilks seems to be playing really well and Naughton should be bought in the summer no matter what the price. Best defender we have. I really struggle to see us getting anything from the last 2 games now and coming from, that shows how bad the performances have been over the last 2 games. Tottenham was a good win, but we can’t have that bas the last points of the season. I say lets throw everything at Arsenal. Wingers, 2 strikers, just go for it. I feel like we haven’t seen that since ManC.

To summarise: Defence needs sorting; what happened to our attack?; Lets just bloody well go for it!

He was pretty good against Man U at old Trafford as well. He has so much more to give.

I want him back! I have said all along that he is quality and deserves a chance at Norwich. He scored plenty on our way out of League 1 and was unlucky to not get more in the Championship. He has a great shot and a decent awareness on the ball. I reckon he’d give more to the overall play than Morison in his movement and works well with Holt. Still young remember so he has room to grow as well.

Definitely need a CB or 2. and I would love to see Naughton on a permanent. Another Striker is needed as well as if Holt is off form then we really struggle.

Showed who needed it more in this game. Blackburn need the points. Norwich don’t. We showed it. Getting a bit complacent. Lets go again against a Liverpool side that has barely won in recent weeks.
Once again it was Wilbraham coming on that made the difference to our team. He is becoming very effect. Tall, holds the ball up well and has a surprising turn of pace. Looking far more effective alongside Holt than Moro has lately.

That’s twice we’ve played City at the very top of their game. Twice they have been incredibly clinical. We looked so good for so long. The thing that killed it for me was taking Wilbs off for Moro. Wilbraham was chasing everything, allowed the defenders to clear their lines, knowing the ball wouldn’t be coming straight back. He scared the defence and didn’t allow them a moments rest. But Moro just didn’t really do anything. He chased one ball to the by-line and almost set Holt up for his chance, That was it. He didn’t win anything in the air, he barely held the ball up. This meant the ball was constantly coming back through the Manc midfield for the last 20 minutes and we just couldn’t live with it. It also meant we were trying to play it out through the middle because we didn’t trust the ball up top any more. A bad change by Lambo and I have lost patients with Moro now. Not doing it any more and it is getting on my nerves. However, we played some delightful stuff and really deserved something today. Just terrible how the game ended. Onwards to Blackburn where we can hopefully rectify things.

It is major prejudice that keeps the likes of Holt out of the England team. The “pundits” on LOTD (Liverpool of the Day) have probably barely seen one game with Holt in it. He is exactly the type of Player England need. Not just for his goal threat, but for his effort, his desire, his attitude. The second he pulls on that England shirt every Englishman in the country would be behind him. He would chase every lost cause. Battle for every ball. Knock it on. Win a fowl. Work his hardest with his heart on his sleeve. If that isn’t good enough for England then you can see exactly why they have fallen way bellow the truly excellent world teams.

We can’t match Spain’s perfection in passing and quality or Germany’s brilliant power and youth. Go for the players that can give you something real. More than just ability. Passion is what has been missing from our great nation’s football side and putting Holt in the team would bring it back and then some! Just because he hasn’t played for the big guns and hasn’t been given his chance before now doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve to go. All the more reason to give him a shot. He would take it with both hands and make it his own. We still probably wouldn’t win it, but we’d go out fighting far better than the limp wave of the white flag against Germany in the world cup. If Holt isn’t on that plane, alongside Ruddy, then there is no hope for English football in my eyes.

Stop trying to cultivate new players and always looking to the next tournament. It hasn’t worked so far. Lets have a good go this time. Then we can try the youth that everyone bangs on about!

WHAT! A GAME! We won despite another 2 terrible decisions. We are on far lately and deserve another 9 points at least. Liverpool, Vill and Blackburn are all winnable games. And we could nick one of Man City? Only Arsenal pose a threat in my eyes.

First yellow for Holt was bollocks. Second could see why but still harsh. Great win, good performance, hopefully the start of a good run. Holt will be missed against Fulham. I don’t get people saying Moro isn’t good enough for the premier League, they clearly have short memories as he was great earlier in the season. I agree that at the moment he is not performing well enough but don’t start insulting him, cheer him on. He needs some support. Get off his back!

A lovely team performance today but I still want to see that goal difference sorted! We should have scored 4 or 5 today but we keep scrapping those wins. On wards and upwards to Fulham, they deserve a good thumping after what happened in 05!
