OK. Emotions aside, just looking at the facts: we would not be where we are without Messrs Lambert & Holt. I would like to think we would have made it back to the Championship but I doubt we would have made the Prem on our budget.

So lets be dignified.

Thank you Mr Lambert for taken us to the Promised Land.

I for one trust in McNally’s judgement. A hard-nosed businessman with an excellent sense of what is needed who at this moment in time is fighting our corner. He found the money for Holt and Lambert to come to Norwich but both will be extraordinarily difficult to replace. We may have to settle for survival next season – but we would have taken that this season.

The reason people feel so hurt is because we so easily make sporting heroes “gods” and when they let us down – as they will – it does hurt. Don’t put them on the pedestal and they can’t fall off!
