We have been in touch with a local t.v studio who have thrown some ideas at us and us them regarding setting up an audience scenario with fans etc…
Sort of like a late kick off based around Norwich City FC, there would be around 170 tickets available and we would be offering them firstly to all current members!
It would take place at Epic studios in Magdalen Street Norwich.
We would be seeking anyone confident or with experience on hosting or interviewing as the host of the show!
We would then air the show on this site!
Just an idea that could well go ahead this summer, what do you think?

How about you come up with some original ideas for the site? Sort of like a Late Kick Off? Come on guys, everything on this site is just copied from the other Norwich sites. The forum has already been done on the Pinkun and will never be bettered. There’s fan blogs on the Pinkun also. The match reports are on the Pinkun and Darren Huckerbys site dh6.com. You’ve even copied huckerbysboots.com with the Radio Norfolk commentary clip. I could even argue this broadcast idea is similar to the video podcasts we’ve done, as I’m assuming that’s the general idea, fans video broadcast about Ncfc.
Come on guys, it’s about time you came up with some original ideas for the site instead of ripping off everyone elses.
The Sing Up The River End site offers something very different and very original. Our site HuckerbysBoots.com has been and always will be simply media content, podcasts, videos and pictures by the fans. That’s what we set out to do and it’s all we will do.
I never wanted to do a forum site, or a fan blog site or a match report site cause your never gonna compete with the Pinkun.com and we just don’t need another site with the same content.
So come on guys, come up with your own ideas and something original!

This is a Fans blog site. That’s what it was set up as. It’s originality is that it isn’t filled with lots of silly incoherent tosh posted by numpties.
Match reports are part and parcel. You could say everyone who ever does match reports is just copying the EDP! They’ve been doing them there for years.
And with the radio clip, that’s not copying, it’s sharing something that shows just how passionate everyone involved with Norwich is. It doesn’t have to be original to be good.

Why don’t you lay of these guys back, there are shed loads of Norwich fans sites out there that try and carbon copy all other phpbb3 style forums, that’s typical and that is boring!
From what i can see this site is actually trying to bring together a community of people who write quality content and have viewable opinions instead of sifting through the same old same old childish mindless babble that the crappy pink un offers!
For godsake the guys that run this forum are not professional bloody tv presenters etc, they are coming up with some ideas to get people on this site together!
You sound bitter to me mate, and by the way, HuckerbysBoots.com is nothing short of a really poorly designed site with a nothingness to it!
I don’t think adding a video is exactly copying anyone, from what i remember these guys had the video up as soon as it went onto youtube, do you know how I know that? Cause I bloody wrote to admin and asked for it to be put on here!
What do you want these guys and members to do, build a new F***ing football team?

I think you will find that the success of this site is due to the fact that there are no mindless idiots on here who criticise the ideas that the members and admin have.
I doubt anyone would have imagined how quickly this site has grown and the fact that admin are suggesting the idea of having their own show for members to get together, again shows how successful the site is!!
I also don’t think you are in a position to comment about the originality of websites!
As CTID has said I feel that there is a sense of bitterness about your post and maybe you should just accept that admin has done a wonderful job in such a short space of time! All you need to be aware of is the number of Norwich sites that have failed over the years! This site appears to be going from strength to strength due to the members involvement of the ideas of the site. So maybe you should criticise all of the members for coming up with the ideas that admin has gone through with!!

Ohh dear HuckerbysBoots.
Well…..to be honest, we have never copied anybody’s ideas from other sites, the reason we started this website was to provide a much higher level of readable content to Norwich Fans.
We are not trying to be another Pink Un etc, we very rarely if ever look at other NCFC Fans site because …well …. we have our own and also because the reason for starting this site was down to the lack of informative interesting reading forums out there!
I am sorry you feel how you feel but we aint here to please everyone, you simply can not do that! Just look at some of the comments people have made regarding your website, I am not saying i agree with them, but your never going to please everyone!
I understand the work that goes into developing a quality website so I would not personally be one to slate another efforts!

Secondly, you tried to recruit me as a blogger just before I joined ontheballcity.com, guess what! I joined this site because it seemed better, more original and had the best atmosphere on a Norwich City fansite I’ve seen.

How can you gawp on you time waster when your site promotes more than likely copyrighted images and videos of professional media outfits such as professional photographer, the BBC ermmm quite a bit more such as the logo your using im sure isn’t your own is it? No its the badge of our club which again im sure is breeching copyright!
I think you will find this site is much more original in comparison to yours, in any case you should be complimenting a website such as this for the positive thing it has done, like the t-shirts for fans (by the way I love mine), etc etc……. HuckerbysBoots.com = Negative Bunch.
Not a good post attacking a website that is very favourable with the members that make it is it? Not really a bright thing to do to attack the members that make a site.
This site has freedom and honesty, the oink un’s days are numbered.

I think we all are BarclayBoy! I love how together the members of this site are! We have created a community that likes to bounce ideas off each other and supports each other. And though there is one man (Yellow by name) that seems to disagree we still get a healthy debate out of it and talk about it in a decent way, rather then just spouting out swear words and acronyms!
As I said, this is what makes this site unique and special and different from every other. How can you slate something that is doing so well!
OnTheBallCity.com is definitely the most impressive site there is, the best displayed and it has the best community! Simply fantastic!

Hahahah Christ I did get a bit of a roasting didn’t I. Fair do’s lads your entitled to your opinions as much as I am, and I admit my comments were rather antagonistic. Although all dramas have to have their protaganists.
I stand by comments tho, I just feel that the content on this site is very replicative of other sites. Message Board, as different and better as you make it out to be it all seems the same to me. Posts about signing this new player and that new player etc. Fan blogs, theres loads elsewhere already. Match reviews, already done countless times elsewhere, how many reviews of the same match does one need to read?
And a live audience broadcast? Well I’ll be more supportive this time instead of bitter and scathing and just say good luck!
One retort I would like to make to CTID regarding his comment about the you tube video, Radio Norfolk broadcast the Derby goal highlight at 5:59 and it was up on my site at 6:00. Copyright material or not. I’ve had no complaints and until I do will continue to put on my site as there are a load of people that miss those golden commentary moments.
As for the look of the site I do agree it doesn’t look the norm and tip top professional and will be changing the look in time for the new season. What I wanted was something different tho as most sites all look the same, as does this one. Tho I agree different doesn’t always mean better.
With regard to others comments about me after ideas in the early stages and approaching people to write, yes I did consider it but decided against it for the same reason, you boys already have plenty of fan blogs on here as does the Pinkun, and I’m after something different. The first incarnation of HuckerbysBoots had a few player profiles from your very own James Scoltock so I’ll leave you to your own thoughts on that score.
Finally my ‘vision’ for HuckerbysBoots is simple. Media content such as pictures, videos and podcasts done by the fans about Norwich City. Nothing more nothing less. The format isn’t to everyones liking and the content may not be either, but at the end of the day we enjoy doing it and if one person who isn’t my mum views the site in earnest then it’s well worth it.
I will hold my hands up to my post in that it was antagonistic, but I meant it as constructive criticism, albeit with a sense of pantomime villain from the competition, or not as you may see it.
I stand by my comments tho, I feel this site doesn’t have anything that the other sites already have.
And a message to Admin, respect your bigger man higher ground stance, that’s just not my style, I like to make a noise and create a ruckus! Tis boring to be any different…

One last thing, re: originality, if you’ve heard the Russell Martin in his pants song, that was sung by the Barclay on Saturday and mentioned by Chris Goreham to Russell on the balcony yesterday, it was me that came up with it and put on my site, facebooked, pinkun’d, and tweeted all week relentlessly to get sung on Saturday.

True test of a man is to hold his hands up and admit he was in the wrong. I’m afraid you will always be hitting a brick wall when you say anything negative about this site.
It has grabbed a nice following and they just enjoyed this site because, as i have said many times, it is not full of silly little numpties who just want to go around upsetting the apple cart. That is what makes it different and unique! It is a big forum site that has good posters who want to talk about Norwich and not just insult each other.

You have a few oppostions to our site, we don’t like yours – end off. Post on here about topics ON this site, not these pointless rambles about how you think we’re not original blahblahblah. This site hasn’t been up a year, fair enough it was intended to be constructive critcism, but we really believe we’re going to take over from the Pink’Un as number 1. Their members are gradually coming over here, this site is going to grow and grow and grow.

Thing is HuckerbysBoots seems to overlook again that his site was copied from an Exeter fans site! So in terms of discussing originality and creativity, its a bit of a joke really!
Also Colky I think you have it spot on, this site is original, its been up less than a year and already look at the super community we have here!
What is most interesting is that he dislikes the uncreative and un original elements of this site so much that he feels the need to post on here!
I tell you what HuckerbysBoots, why didn’t you contact the admin of this site and see if you could work together on various projects etc, wouldn’t have that been much more productive?
Again you miss the point that the pink un isn’t bloody Google! It’s popular because of Archant, not because the site is quality!
Also if that Radio Norfolk clip was posted on youtube then it is free for anyone to use! I was referring to all of the other copyrighted images etc …. obviously you don’t work in the industry so you perhaps don’t realise how illegal it is to think you can freely steal that material!

CTID your talking complete s**t mate, I can tolerate the abuse and comebacks cause I’ve asked for it good and proper with my original post, but your comments are just drivel.
I didnt copy the Exeter site, it was the catalyst of course, in exactly the same way that the Pinkun was to this site. My content is different to the Exeter site, it just inspired me thats all. If you check out kellowesbootlaces there’s hardly a comparison to mine is there.
Fact is this sites main content is a message board, fan blogs and match reports, which was all originated on other sites. These are the facts and they cannot be disputed.
I’m just trying give a constructive criticism about the site. If you cant handle it and wanna spit your dummy out then it’s about time you grew up. I can take all the abuse you wanna give my site, and in fact take on board any salient points, such as making the look more professional, and cutting out copyrighted pictures (not that’s it’s ever been an issue).
But as someone said it is getting boring so I’ll leave it there.

All we can say is this site is just a forum for people passionate about Norwich but sick of the tosh on the Pink Un to chat without the silly interference. We like to converse only on the matters of Norwich City and how the club is doing. Personally, I care little for where the ideas have come from and that stuff. Something doesn’t have to be entirely original to be good.
This site has formed a good following that enjoy chatting with each other and like to keep things as civil as possible, while allowing the passion to come through.
I know i’m getting a tad repetitive and the conversation on this needs to come to an end, but thats all i have been trying to get across.

Look if you’d come across a little less intense with the comments then it might not have seemed so bad. If you read this back, it’s like a bunch of old women moaning over knitting needles.
So let’s go back to what we were talking about. Or sit down and shut up! There’s no real gap in the market with regards to a Norwich fansite. Or I can’t think of anything at least. The fact of the matter is, sometimes you have to do what’s already been done – we’re making it better than the Pink’Un, our reports really get you back there, they’re brilliant to read and I think many would say they’re some of the best around.
I fully trust this admin to generate some really brilliant ideas, I know SP personally and he has a bunch already. Give it a year HuckerbysBoots, you’ll see what this site turns into! You’re fully entitled to your opinion, your facts can’t be disputed.
There are very few original ideas out there. The point is, we’re doing it better than the Pink’Un and there’s a far more personal approach on here. A lot of members were recruited by facebook, where admin talking personally to the new posters. On the Pink’Un I know there has been personal conversations also, they make you feel valued and you really want to be a part of the site.
Like Norwich, ontheballcity.com is on the up. This site is going to be absolutely fantastic, I would choose this over the Pink’Un any day! I’m sure many more would agree with me…
