So we are basically safe now, 14 points clear with 15 left to play for, so what are your predictions for the end of the season.
First up, our final position. We have a hard run in but with Liverpool in terrible form, Blackburn being hit and miss and Villa not looking up to much I can see us still getting 7, maybe 9 points before the season is over. That’d leave us on 50-52 points. Probably give us 9th or 10th spot. That’d be frankly fantastic. and with Man City seemingly off and on all over the place, we could take something form them. And just look at QPR who beat Arsenal the other week, so that is even more hope for us. Still, lets no get carried away. Safety was all we wanted and that is what we got. Anything more is just a bonus now!
Next up, the fate of the bottom 3. Wolves are gone so it is a straight fight between Blackburn, Bolton, Wigan and QPR. As much as I want them to go back down, QPR are putting together some decent results now, with wins over Liverpool, Arsenal and Swansea. Wigan pulled off a shock result against Man U the other day, but it’s still going to be tough for them to get away. Bolton have looked poor all season and never seem to be able to put a run of results together, having beaten a few of their close rivals they then got well beaten by Fulham. And that leads us to Blackburn who have a great squad and great players but need to stop conceding! I’m going for as you are down the bottom with Wolves, Blackburn and Bolton going down.
Now to the top of the league. Man City were running away with it. Then Man U took advantage of their choke. Now Man City have put in a big win and Man U suffered a shock loss! This has the potential to go down to the Derby match at Man City which will be a fantastic game! I’m gunna go with Man U though. They still hold 5 points over City and know how to win trophies.
Here’s my revised predictions for the last 5 games of the season:
vs Man City (h) 1-2 Loss
vs Blachburn (a) 2-0 Win
vs Liverpool (h) 2-1 Win
vs Arsenal (a) 3-1 Loss
vs Aston Villa (h) 3-1 Win

Well Man City was a kick in the crotch. Ho, hum, we’ll move on!
vs Blackburn (A), W 3-1 – Blackburn fighting for it, think we’ll have too much for them. But won’t be an easy game, that’s for sure. Less pressure on us and boys will be chomping at the bit to fight back after today.
vs Liverpool (H), D 1-1 – Liverpool aren’t a team to fear for sure, not the side they were, very up and down and feel we’re more than capable of getting a result against them.
vs Arsenal (A), L 0-3 – Arsenal are ending the season very strongly, got some quality players in their team and to be honest, this game will be more enjoy the occasion. Certainly not expecting anything, but our boys will give it a right go for sure.
vs Aston Villa (H), W 2-0 – Finish the season with a flourish!
So that puts us on 50 points I believe.
Player of the season, John Ruddy for me. Feel he’s been excellent from the off, of course he makes a few mistakes here and there but some of his saves have been massive for us. He’s won us many points over the season and deserves it in my view. Grant Holt in second, been massive since hitting form and of course he’s going to be up there. David Fox in third, brilliant player for us and can carve out an opportunity to good effect. Not involved at the moment, but played a massive part over the season.
