farewell?

starting to think about who else we’ll have to get rid of, and there are some tough decisions in there!
what are your thoughts on:
Chris Martin?
Simon Lappin?
Adam Drury?
and other first team players i’m bound to have forgotten … (i’m accepting that the likes of Wilbraham etc will have to go)

personally i think that all three can still do a job, and despite the fact they’re not going to get games week in week out they can still be decent squad players, to be called upon if and when they are needed. would be sad to see any of them go in my opinion!

Actually I think those three will stay and for several reasons:
1) Where possible lambert likes to show loyalty.
2) All three have something to offer – if only as cover until Jan.
3) Correct me if I’m wrong but the squad comprises 25 players over 21 years old, 8 of whom have to be “home grown” (which lappin is not) but as I understand it under 21 year olds don’t count. have I got that right? If so we will actually find it difficult to get a squad of 25, even with 7 new players. At the moment I make that 17 including the 2 signings. This assumes of course there is no room for…

Oli Johnson, Steven Smith, Owain Tudur Jones, Stephen Hughes
Anthony McNamee, Cody McDonald & Wilbraham -all who could go for fees. If I have my sums right PL could even keep a couple of these, at least until Jan.

yeah i hope they all stay really… and as for the others Cody jumps out at me. Definitely won’t be top of the list in terms of match starters but really don’t think we should sell him, unless for a decent price. Maybe loan him out to see how he copes in the championship?

I have heard that Chrissy Martin could be off to Watford as a replacement for Graham or used as a make weight in the Snodgrass deal.

I think Drury will stay, Lappin could possibly go as Bradley Johnson could be seen as the new Lappin.

I think Wilbraham, OTJ, Oli and possibly Cody will be gone, although I would prefer us to loan him out instead.

I still rate Chrissy. He would have been playing all last season but for Injuries/incidents that put him off. He has a great finish and knows how to play the game. People say he is lazy but i think he just knows when to get moving and when not to. Definitely a keeper for me.
