F.A a joke!

Now whilst it is easy to sit here and jump on the bandwagon that footballers are role models and their wages should reflect their behaviour etc etc….

I think the handling of Wayne Rooneys celebrations has been sickening.

Whilst Rooney has not done himself any favours being exploited by the dirty media, he is also a person who makes mistakes!

He has been slated over the last 6 months or so, perhaps even since the world cup, from t.v pundits, managers, ex prem players etc…. shaming Rooney for his performances.

The guys has had to suck it all up and take it on the chin, rightly so i hear you say….mmmmmm…..really?

Still a young man, still learning the game, still a thug from a chavy council estate from the slums of Liverpool!

A leopard never changes its spots, Rooney will always be a hot head, but a hot head in the sense he loves the game.

How many times will i have to watch match of the day and watch hangers on, players who want their pay check, players who used to be something (robert pirez!). passionless players!!!!!!

Rooneys hunger for the game is not questionable, I love the way the guy plays and swearing at the camera after scoring a hat trick is worthy of this over hyped media scam? No way!

I just feel it is so easy to get on a players back because they earn so much money and we should expect them to behave according to it!

When he scores a hat trick, he loses it a little and shouts out about it! I just can not see how this is deemed that bad!

What about fining the tv stations for repeatedly showing it, hyping it up and making a bloody meal out of it!

All over the top stuff with the media but Rooney seems to invite much of the pressure which is not directly about football.

I quite agree with you CTID. Though Rooney does invite a lot of intention upon himself, I think you shouldn’t even fine a player, let alone think about suspending him for a game, just for being passionate. It seems they are trying to stamp passion out of the game! First the not celebrating with the crowd, then the taking the shirt off. They just want players to score then slowly and calmly walk back to the half way line and restart.
This is not what football about but I don’t think the FA knows that. They are simply useless!

Since Rooney escaped any punishment for the bizarre incident where he ran up and clocked another player on the head from behind, Man United have been getting some harsh decisions – players on opposing teams not getting sent off against them after bad tackles, Alex Ferguson’s excessively long ban at a crucial stage of the season and now this. It’s as if the FA is realising that the club “got away” with something and this is a way of balancing things up again. Of course, Rooney will always be the author of his own misfortune, it’s inevitable – he’s not clever enough to avoid it.

They just can’t help but swing to the extremes! They either let players of for the blatant or over punish them for misdemeanour’s!

A two-match ban? This is definitely the FA taking the opportunity to belatedly punish him for the other incident where he got away with it, IMO.

The FA should spend some time concentrating on more pressing matters such as sorting out their own back=yard, the fit and proper persons act, the distribution of money to lower league clubs, ticket pricing, goal line technology etc….
