Delighted by our Amazing Team Spirit!!!

I was thinking very hard about what I could write as the main focus of my latest blog, in my last edition, I previewed what was a massive 3 games ahead for us against QPR, Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough, and talked about how important getting a good load of points was out of them. However, We may not of got quite as many points as we would of liked, but what came to light over the last 7 days, was our amazing team sprit, that we have showed right through the season so far.

Our week began down at Loftus Road, and you could be forgiven for thinking it wasn’t going to be our day, when the travel plans on the day were interrupted by an accident on the A11. But we made it, and the away end was buzzing and full of energy before the game, and we had past our first obstacle of the afternoon.

We were struck down once again when Wes Hoolahan put his penalty wide of the post, and failed to convert a golden chance. What followed this, proved why Lambert is the man!!!. Straight after the Missed penalty, he spoke to Hoolahan, and I assumed told him to move on, and continue with the game, something along those lines anyroad. Whatever was said worked, as in previous year (eg 05-08) We would of folded after such disappointments, but not at Loftus Road. The team pulled together, battled hard, and came away with a fantastic point and a clean sheet. A solid start to the week!! Yes, our run of scoring in every away game under Lambert eneded, but we didn’t really care to much, did we?

Following the buzz of the Loftus Road point, we then embarked on the first of two home games against Crystal Palace on Tuesday Night, and I don’t remember going into two home games with such a buzz for a very long time. Unfortunatly, we never got going Tuesday Night, and It was a contender for our most disappointing day of the season so far. What followed though, I was amazed by, Listening to Canary Call on the way home, I don’t remember a more positive phone in on that show after a defeat for a very long time, if ever for that matter. People were calling and texting in, saying things on the lines of “Elliot Ward will be back Saturday, we will come back”, “We don’t lose 2 in a row under Lambert, Saturday is a nailed on win”. Now after the dire Tuesday Performance, you could of again been forgiven for thinking that these people calling and texting in hadn’t seen the match Tuesday Night. But the phone in restored by belief Tuesday Night, and I went to bed, surpringsly very happy and already looking forward to the Middlesbrough game.

So… 3 days remained of the Working week before the Middlesbrough game yesterday, and I felt so confident leading up to the game, that I was almost about to explode. and so when Matchday came around yesterday, and we all headed to Carrow Road, I was buzzing once more, really looking forward to the day ahead, and kept saying to my Dad “We will win today, I am sure of it” and right through the game I never really had any doubt to be honest. Ok Boro got in behind our defence a few times, but they are a team with no confidence, and they never worried me they were going to score if i’m honest.

Jackson put us in front, and ok, a second goal would of been nice, But it was one of those afternoon’s, where most of us, just knew we were going to get the job done, and we did, We find ourselves 4th after another rollercoaster ride of a week following Norwich City Football Club, and we are all very happy fans.

Excellent blog again Darrell. We have bounced back again to still not have lost 2 games on the bounce under Lambert.
