Great little piece here SP!

Firstly, Wes should go. No question. I think if he was any other nationality he'd be straight in the squad but Trap is set on that defensive, hard biting midfield, hence Wes being ignored. However, the Little Irishman has really improved in his strength and tracking back. Even if Trap wants to stick with his method, bring Wes along as he would be a great player to have on the bench to change a game and give that little extra something.

Of the England call ups, I'd have to say 'Why not Holt?' Few English strikers have been as prolific as him this season and I can think of none that give so much in every game. He is always labelled as the old fashioned big striker, but he has so much more. He runs the channels brilliantly, he has great vision, great with his feet for a big man and he would unsettle any defence just with his bullish presents. Chuck Holt at the Spanish and they wouldn't know what hit them!
Pilks is going to be massive in the future, hopefully with Norwich. I see him getting many more plaudits over the years. As for this summer, probably not.
Ruddy should be the one pushing Joe Hart really. Who else do we have?! Stockdale has only played in the Championship and now warms the bench for Fulham. Far better to have a keeper who plays week in week out. Get him on the plane Fab!
As for Fox! He deserves it. I have said everytime that Fox should be on the team sheet. He isn't as combative as Crofts or Johnson, but he has so much more. His passing is Scholes-esc, he links the play beautifully and pulls of some simply sublime passes. The only problem for him is he doesn't get any of the lime light so few people really know of his talents unless they watch a lot of Norwich matches.

Onto Ireland and Tierney and Pilks chances. I haven't seen many Left backs as consistent as Marc. He has so much power and determination and just stops wingers in their tracks, as well as providing plenty going forward. He would be great for Ireland. Pilks should walk into that squad as well. Though if he does get in, what happens when England come calling in a few years?! I'm always dreaming.

Very worst to very best for Norwich! Looked like a completely different team from 3 days previously! Our neat little one touch inter play was that of Arsenal in their hay day! We were definitely victims of trying to over play it sometimes, Holt passing to Pilks with the goal at his mercy was one such example. But a fantastic performance that was helped by how awful Bolton were really. But that takes nothing away from the boys, especially as we lost both our CB's and had to play about an hour with 3 fall backs and a winger in defence. Amazing guile to just change like that and get on with it. A splendid display that deserved far more goals than we got. It was beginning to look like one of those days when with Surman and Holt both missing sitters and Simo doing all the hard work but never finding that finish. Glad Surs made up for what was a shocking miss in the first half. I seriously don't know how Holt put the ball over the bar from that Pilks cross as well. A good game though and a brilliant response to Wednesday. Special mention from me goes to Fox. I always think he is the difference. He plays in that little pocket of space around the half way line and just links everything up and works the ball beautifully. He isn't the most combative but he gives so much more with his passing and vision. Totally worth it. We missed him against Sunderland.

Anyway, another good win. Second double of the season. 12 points clear of the bottom 3, 6 points off Europe! Onwards and upwards for the boys in Yellow.

One last thing, great for Russ to get his 100th appearance. Can't believe how quickly he got to that. Seems like he hasn't been here long enough. He could get to Drury's tally at this rate!

Up and up we go! OTBC!

It was just depressingly bad. Probably our worst performance under Lambert. But it was only one game. We shall pick ourselves up and go again against Bolton. Hopefully the whole team will be looking to bounce back.

I know it's a completely different situation, and Sunderland have played well. we are still in a great pos
ition in the league and all, but this seems like the performance that we put in against Charlton at the end of the 08/09 season.

Should of had the Wingers on at half time, before we went 3 down. Wrong, line-up, wrong team, poor choice and not interested. This is just a terrible performance. And the ref has been rubbish. I just can't believe how bad we have been!
