A Very Merry Christmas for all in Yellow and Green
Dec

2011
Hundreds of miles, two challenging away games in the space of 4 days, any club could be forgiven for winding down and getting beat twice away from home just before Christmas. However, We are not a normal club, and our heroic Men in Yellow and Green performed admirably in defence, attack and everywhere really, to come away with a Point from both Goodison Park on Saturday and then again at Molyneux on Tuesday night.
Both those points add to what a fabulous start to the season this has been, Two draws that have taken us past the 20 point mark, onto 21, more than half way to the Important talked about Survival Mark of 40 with less than Half of our games played. Incredible! What we have done on our Premier League adventure so far has been truly remarkable, and i’ll relive some of my highlights in this, my final blog before Christmas.
I could talk about nearly every game to be fair, but where to begin, you have to head to the Reebok, Our first win of the season and it was an away win, even better! We didn’t even manage one last time we were here in this great league, and Bolton was actually a tough proposition back in September, so to get the win was simply amazing!
We followed that up of course with our first home win just 9 days later against Sunderland on a monday Night under the floodlights at Carrow Road, It was a brilliant occasion, a game was dominated and totally deserved to win.
It wasn’t just wins that have been memorable along our way so far, A Fairytale draw at Anfield when Grant Holt scored an amazing header to get us the point will live long in the memory, as will Grant’s super goal at Goodison in another Merseyside draw. Also his equaliser at Stamford Bridge to level the game, unfortunately we ended up losing that one but like at Old Trafford, It was a performance to be proud of.
You have to say though, The highlight so far has to be beating Newcastle 4-2 at Carrow Road in our last home game, To play the way we did, the football we did, the headers we scored and the effort we gave against a top name like Newcastle was amazing. It was our final home game before Christmas and our lads in Yellow and Green gave us the best present we could wish for.
So a quick bit of house keeping, We are 17 games in to this amazing Premier League adventure, We have taken a remarkable 21 points and find ourselves in the truly incredible position of 9th.
Its a very Merry Christmas for everyone in Yellow and Green.
Merry Christmas from me,Thanks for reading my blogs and all the great comments that you give me. I see them all.
Have a great one, and I’ll speak to you again next friday looking back on our Christmas game at Carrow Road against Tottenham.
Merry Christmas!!!
